Hormone Replacement Therapy
RESTORE YOUR HORMONE LEVELS
Hormones are chemicals produced by glands in the endocrine system and released into the bloodstream. An imbalance occurs when there is too much or too little of one or more hormones. Hormonal imbalances can impact both men and women of any age. Symptoms can begin as early as 30 years of age and are often mis-diagnosed and mis-treated with anti-depressants, anti-anxiety medications, sleeping pills, adult ADD medications and others. Our nurse practitioner, Anna Hiatt, will work with you to optimize your hormone levels so you can feel your best! She is a Biote certified hormone specialist with a wealth of experience in bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) as well as traditional hormone therapies.
Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy
When your body’s ability to produce hormones is disrupted, such as a natural decline with age, you may notice a difference in how you feel. Imbalances in hormones can lead to a myriad of symptoms including reduced libido, itchy skin, low mood, fatigue, and weight gain – but these changes don’t have to be permanent.
At Optimal BioHealth we offer Biote Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) using hormone pellets. Bioidentical hormones, such as the ones used by Biote, work with the body’s chemistry because they closely replicate the molecular structure of the hormones that normally occur within the body.
During pellet therapy, pellets are inserted subcutaneously into the body in a quick, simple, in-office procedure. These pellets will gradually be absorbed, dispersing hormones throughout the body. BHRT using pellets offers a consistent administration and may help address rollercoaster-like effects that some patients report with other forms of hormone therapy.
Hormones delivered by pellet therapy bypass the liver, do not affect clotting factors, do not increase the risk of thrombosis, and avoid the fluctuations of hormone levels some patients may experience.* Biote bioidentical hormone pellets are made from soy or the yam plant to create estradiol and/or testosterone molecules, unlike synthetic hormones, which are made from animal parts or urine and have a different molecular structure than what the body produces.
Unlike one-size-fits-all solutions, Biote Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) delivers a steady release of testosterone and/or estrogen which have been dosed to your precise needs based on your body’s individual chemistry. Biote’s bioidentical hormone pellets contribute not only to physical well-being through restored sexual health, but also to mental clarity, emotional resilience, and a renewed zest for life.
Testosterone
FATIGUE, sleep loss, memory loss, mental fog, confusion, depression, irritability, anxiety, and mood swings are some of the BRAIN symptoms of low testosterone. There are thousands of receptors for testosterone in the areas of the brain responsible for mood, mental clarity and memory that are affected as testosterone levels decline with age.
Other symptoms of low testosterone (Low T) include night sweats, joint pain, bladder symptoms, headaches, low libido, decreased vaginal lubrication in women, decreased ability to maintain and sustain erection in men, and weight gain.
Pelleting, patches, creams, and injections are possible solutions for treating low testosterone. The best choice for you will depend on many factors and should be thoroughly discussed with a medical provider that specializes in hormones.
Thyroid
The thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland in the throat. It produces hormones that help regulate many bodily functions, such as metabolism, heart rate, and body temperature.
Proper treatment helps restore normal thyroid function, addressing issues such as fatigue, weight gain or loss, mood swings, and other symptoms associated with thyroid imbalances. Timely and effective thyroid treatment plays a crucial role in optimizing metabolic processes and supporting overall health.
Vitamin D
Vitamin D is a bit of a misnomer. It is not a vitamin; it is a hormone naturally created by your body to help maintain a healthy balance in your body’s mental, emotional, and physical faculties. Without it, you can experience hormonal imbalances such as depression, hair loss, weight gain, muscle pain, fatigue, mood swings, and poor temperature regulation. A quick blood test can accurately measure your levels.
On-Site Labs Draws
You can’t fix what you don’t measure. To best assess the root cause of hormonal imbalance, your practitioner may recommend laboratory testing to identify deficiencies in your hormones and rule out other potential medical issues affecting your hormonal health.
Because we understand that time is a barrier for many people, Optimal BioHealth has contracted with both Labcorp and Quest to be able to draw labs in house and have the results returned quickly. This cuts down on waiting times and inconvenience for our clients and gives us the essential data we need to provide quality care.
Labs we routinely test include expanded hormone levels, thyroid panels, vitamin levels and allergies. We also run tissue samples and screenings on a case-by-case basis.
Improve Vitality
Energize your health!
Balanced hormones allow your body to function optimally and regain lost vitality. Hormones control your metabolism, growth, emotions, blood pressure, sexual function, and sleep. A hormonal imbalance may cause a varity of symptoms. Using bioidentical hormones restores your hormones to their natural levels to relieve your symptoms, enabling you to return to a more active, healthy life.
